Well its now official TOPS is the BEST GYM in the UK!!!

Out of 500+ entries TOPS lived up to its name and came out "tops" in the National Fitness Awards on Friday held in Birmingham at The National Convention Centre.

We were finalist in 3 groups (which means top 6 in the UK) which were, Northern Gym of the Year, Rehabilitation Centre of the Year & Community Award. Unfortunately the Rehab Award & the Community Award fell by the wayside but by winning the Northern Gym Award it entered us into the National Award and the rest they say is history.

The glitzy event, much like the Oscars, is the biggest in the Fitness Industry with many celebrities there too (Alex Reid, Chantelle Houghton, Darren Sadler (world strongest man), Carly Thornton (Fitness Ambassador), Kathy Kelly (Becky off Coronation St) to name but a few.

As winners were announced the spotlight came on and we were filmed walking all the way to the stage to collect our awards. When we won the NATIONAL GYM OF THE YEAR (which is the biggest prize given to a fitness centre) the place errupted and I dont mind saying I was a bit emotional. I have been part of this centre for over 25 years and seen my parents build it up from virtually nothing. Then in 2005 myself, Jimmy Gittins & Natasha Green took over and put a new vision into affect with the addition of a Rehabilitation Centre. Since then we have moved things onto the next level and can now boast to have the BEST gym in the UK with the best staff!

This would not have been possible without our fantastic loyal clients and this award is for them.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank my mum and dad for building a business with a fantastic reputation that we could keep steering in the right direction. This achievement would never have been possible without you two! I hope we have made you proud dad and I hope my mum is looking down with similar pride.

One last thing that I would like to finally add. Do Not think this will make us rest on our laurels here at Tops. We are the BEST for a reason and we will be improving facilities in the near future.

WHY NOT COME AND JOIN THE BEST because as our motto says "we care about the future you want!"
